Hi, My name is Reno King Lawrence,

I am the single father of three artsy talented grown ups – Boy, girl, boy!! They are all grown and pursuing their passions

I am comfortable with the idea that the universe and all that is in it has a designer that proceeds its beginning. The divinity of such a spirit was here before all. It humbles me that I have awareness to experience this life, this miracle, and that there is something much greater that seeks me intimately. I believe that man-made religion fails to represent the true love and beauty of this designer. I do not seek to know through religion, but rather seek by the Love and Grace I perceive makes up the vastness of the incomprehensible.  I have found within myself, A need to be found as well as to connect.  The invitation to bind with the whole is the catalyst and finisher of my gratitude towards all. My logic and faith in this is profoundly simple — I will always be in this world as part rather than the whole. My individuality testifies of this fact. In this faith which I embrace, everything I ponder and experience takes perfect shape including the peace within me, which has grown to become a critical part of my existence here in this earthy abode and while, for me, seems to promise better tomorrows.

I am a poet, a photographer, a musician who has played harmonica for 40 years while also playing a little guitar. I have played in many blues bands and with some amazing musicians here in Dallas. I am an artist who draws on occasion, yet, the acrylics and oils have hardened in their tubes since last they were put to canvas.

I am a native Californian, I spent 3-years in the Pacific Northwest (Olympia/Lacey, WA) in 1979-81, and presently have taken a residence in Dallas, Tx. since 2006. I work in commercial print/packaging as a Senior Manufacturing Planner.

Some words that best describe me: Spiritual, grateful, introspective, philosophical, artistic, intuitive, sensitive, vulnerable, courageous, articulate, humorous, soulful, creative, goofy, awkward, much to say, often critical of myself.

I seek to explore various forms of expression. Throughout my life; art, music, photography, poetry, and writing have all been a large part of that journey; renokingswordsnpoetry features my poetry. Some of my photography and art can be found on my blog also. I haven’t found a way to post any of my harmonica solo’s, yet, I might send you a solo, if you ask. Try me!

A frequent question I am asked is how I got my name. I wrote a short story poem: “What’s in a name” — If you should ever be so curious.

I am big on outdoor activity; Mountains, backpacking, waves, Ocean kayak fishing, surfing. Both California and Washington offered me a plethora of nature experiences that I built my lifestyles and activities around. I am best inspired through nature. I have been challenged to find the same opportunities since I took residence in Dallas. I am grateful for friends, musicianship, poetry, art, photography, and my beautiful and brilliant Minnie Aussie, “Rembrandt”, to keep me preoccupied in absence of the greater outdoors that I love.

The beauty and light of God is eternal and unchanging. It is my daily goal to grow beyond myself and harmonize into the whole from which I was birthed.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; (Romans 1:20)
